Point processes are a simple form of image enhancement for digital image processing. It involves changing pixels values without care of the pixel around it. The following links provides general information about several forms of point processes:
A histogram is a bar chart that shows the possible values for a pixel and the corresponding number of pixel that has that value in a digital image. Histograms can be used to show characteristics about the image. Taking these characteristics, changes can be made to each pixel in order to have an image conform to a desired histogram. Image mathematics works just like digital logic. When you add two images together, you simply add the pixel values of each image and come up with one pixel value for the new image. Here is a link on image mathematics:
